CHEESE STUFFED HERB AND GARLIC BREAD
Old School on the fire doings!(first time doing this on the fire)
- ¼ cup sugar
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of cake flour
- 1½ cups of self-raising flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon herb and garlic dry mix
Mix the above ingredients in a mixing bowl and kneed it well. Make sure your dough is well formed.
- Then add the ingredients below:
- ¼ cup oil and keep kneeing, then add
- ⅓ cup of luke warm water
Work dough well, if it’s very sticky, just keep sprinkling some self-raising flour lightly. Keep kneeing until your hand is clean from the dough. Now cover it and let it rest for 20 minutes.
While waiting, cut up some cheese into small blocks. After 20 min take your dough, brake off pieces and form small cocktail pizza size circles, place some cheese blocks in the center and close it up. Place into your oiled baking tin and brush the top with a little oil.
When done, close it up with a lid or two layers of foil tightly. Place it about 3 cm above hot coals and place coals on the lid or foil and let it bake for 30 – 40 minutes. Please make sure it doesn’t burn. Take off and enjoy!
