CHEESE STRAWS / BISCUITS
My oorlede skoonsus Lizelle se resep. Heerlik!
- 250 ml snowflake cake flour
- 1 ml cayenne pepper
- 2 ml dry mustard
- 2 ml salt
- 125 g butter
- 250 ml grated Cheddar cheese
- 10 ml chopped fresh basil, optional
- 30 ml cold water, approximately
Preheat oven to 180 ºC.
Sif dry ingredients into a bowl.
Rub butter into flour until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Mix in and bind with cold water to form a stiff dough.
Roll out 5 mm thick on a floured board. Cut into thin fingers or small decorative shapes.
Arrange on a greased baking pan and bake for 15 – 20 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack and serve as a snack with drinks.
