BUTTER SWIM BRAAI SCONES
- Butter mix:
- 250 g butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic (or to taste)
- 2 teaspoons brown onion soup
- pinch of cayenne pepper
- 2 ½ cups cake flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
- extra cheese for over the top
Melt the butter in a bowl in the microwave or in a pot on the stove.
Add the garlic, soup powder and pepper to the butter and stir until mixed.
Add the butter mixture in an ovenproof dish and set aside.
In a separate bowl mix the ingredients for the scones until well combined.
Drop spoons full of the scone dough into the melted butter in the ovenproof dish.
Sprinkle lightly with the extra cheese on top.
Bake the braai scones in a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 – 25 minutes until light brown and cooked through.
