BREAD SALAD
Keeping up with tradition I am making my bread salad for our table tomorrow – this is one of the easiest recipes I have however I only ever make it for Christmas lunch.
- 1 loaf bread
- oil for frying
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup white vinegar
- ½ teaspoon mustard
- salt and pepper
Cut bread into small blocks (croutons) and fry in oil until golden brown. Put aside in airtight container until required.
Boil all other ingredients together over low heat until thickens (I whisk together first before boiling)
- Once cool add:
- 1 cup cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
Sauce can be kept in fridge until required.
I make my croutons and the sauce the day before needed.
When ready to eat pour sauce over croutons and mix.
Delicious!!
Note:
Anna du Plessis – sny kaas, gekookte eiers, agurtjies in stukkies. Voeg by. Dit is absoluut heerlik verby.
