BREAD AND BUTTER PUDDING
This pudding is very rich and sweet.
Enjoy with custard, ice cream or fresh cream.
- 10 slices of bread
- sugar for sprinkling over
- 8 eggs
- 400 ml milk
- 3 tablespoons apricot jam
- raisins/currants for sprinkling
- cinnamon
- nutmeg
- butter for dotting
Heat oven to 180°C. Spray a deep dish.
Cube the bread and add to dish. Sprinkle some raisins/currants, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg over and bread cubes.
Beat the eggs and milk and pour over the bread.
Sprinkle more raisins, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg over.
Dot with apricot jam and butter.
Bake in oven for 45 minutes or until egg has set and pudding is browned.
Note:
I like lots of cinnamon and butter.
