BACON AND CHEESE PINWHEELS
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 sheet puff pastry, just thawed
- 2 slices bacon, chopped and lightly fried
- ¼ cup grated Cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 175°C.
Spread tomato paste over the sheet of puff pastry, then scatter the bacon and cheese over the tomato paste.
Roll into a log and then cut cross ways into a pinwheel “1 inch thick”.
Place on a baking sheet lined tray and bake for 15 minutes until golden.
Optional:
For a bit of “zing” chop up some Jalapeno’s and add to the mix or you can always go for a few chunks of tinned pineapple, if you are so inclined.
Swap the bacon for ham or turkey or leave the meat out and pop in a few mushrooms or baby spinach.
Either way enjoy as a treat for morning tea, brunch, or even as a party snack!

Note: I have used ham, cheese, and sun dried onions. Spread dough with mayonnaise and sweet chilli sauce.
