APPLE CRUMBLE TART
- 5 apples, peeled and sliced
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Cook the apples, sugar and cinnamon on low heat in a pot on the stove for about 8 – 10 minutes or until apples are soft to your liking. Remove from the heat and put aside to cool.
- 125 g butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- 2 cups cake flour, sifted
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
Beat the butter with the vanilla until combined.
Add the egg, cooking oil, sifted cake flour and baking powder to the butter mixture and form into a biscuit dough.
Divide the dough in 2 en press 1 part onto the bottom of a greased ovenproof pie dish.
Add the cooked apples on top of the dough in the pie dish.
Grate the rest of the dough evenly on top of the apples.
Bake the apple tart in a pre-heated oven at 180ºC for 30 minutes.
This tart is delicious with cream.
