AMAZING HAMBURGER BUNS
- 1½ cups milk
- 60 ml butter
- 80 ml sugar
- 7 g pack of instant yeast (or 1.5 teaspoons)
- 4 cups white bread flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
Warm milk, sugar and butter together. Cool to room temperature, add the yeast, and stir.
Add flour and salt and mix to combine. Knead for 5 to 10 minutes It’s sticky in the beginning. Don’t add more flour. Keep kneading and it will smooth out beautifully.
Place in a lightly oiled bowl covered to rise for an hour (it will double in size).
Divide dough into 8 (120 g balls) and roll into neat balls. Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise covered with a tea towel for another 30 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 to 20 minutes until cooked (tap and it will sound hollow when done).
Brush with melted butter when the buns come out of the oven.
Note:
You could add sesame seeds, or dust with flour before baking.
