FUDGE WITH CAKE FLOUR
- 165 gram (3/4 cup) butter or margarine
- 75 ml (6 tablespoons spoons) golden syrup
- 1 tin condensed milk
- 325 ml (1 1/4 cup) milk
- 1,2 kg (6 cups) sugar
- 250 ml (1 cup) cake flour
- 2 ml cream of tartar
- 5 ml vanilla essence
Melt butter and syrup in a thick bottom pot on a low heat.
Add condensed milk and milk and mix.
Add the flour and sugar and mix properly.
Stir continuously over low heat until boiling point.
Add cream of tartar as soon as it starts boiling.
Cook for 25 mins over low heat (soft ball stage) stirring continuously.
Take off stove and add vanilla essence.
Beat with wooden spoon until mixture stiffens.
Throw into a smeared pan.
Cut in blocks just before fudge hardens.
